Susan Luevano has been hired by the Santiago Library System to conduct a
Comrnunity Analysis S��xdy of several of the c�.tie� in Orange County� The
Qrange Public I,ibr.ary has agreed to be one of the first cities to be surve.yed.
� ' MANAGEMENT BY OBJ�CT IVE S
. Mr. Er�:ich reported that degartment heads had attended �. fiwo-�day seminar ,
No.vembe� 8 and 9 on Managem�n� by Obje�tivEs. Mr. Erlich then gave a brie�
- summary af the principles concerning this .concept.
AUTOMA.T I�N CIRCULAT ION CONTROL
The library is presently studying various �irculation con.�ro1 systems�

� The Ca1�.fornia Library Association annual conference will, be held .in. San
Francisco December S � 12 1979. A discussion ensued concerning Library Trus�e�s
attending future state conferences. Mr. Erlich said he would discuss t�.is
matter with the City Manager. �
