The regular meeting of the Orange Public Library Board of Trustees was called tc�
order at 4:30 p.m, in the office of the Library Director.
Present: Trustees Courtney, Diaz, Lehman, Tavis and Gorham
The minutes of the previous meeting, September 17, were approved as read,

The new format was discussed.
FRIENDS 0�' THE ORANGE PUBLIC LIBRARY
The �'riends semi-annual meeting will be held in the Community Room of the
Orange Public Library on Sunday, November 18, 1979, at 3 p.m. The Autumn
Wind Consort, a musical gr�nup, will perform.
WHITE HOUSE CONFERENCE
A White Aouse Conference and Friends reception wi11. be held at the
Huntington Beach Public Library on Wednesday, November 28, 1979, from
7 to 9 p.m. City Councilmen and City officials to be invited to attend.
BOOK SECURITY SYSTEM
On Tuesday, dctober 9, 1979, City Council appraved a book security system
to be installed at all three libraries.
CLARION
Trustees reported that they had not received the 1.atest issue of this
publication. Mr. Erlich reported that SB 958, a bill to fund public
l.ibraries, was still alive.
CULT COURSE
The first session of "Cults in Mndern America" caa� held on October 11, 1979.
Thirty-six persons were in attendance. Three more sessions to follow. This
prngram is jointly sponsored by the Library and Santa Ana College.
