RES-9214 Intent to Assess Nuisance Weed Abatement CostsRESOLUTION NO. 9214 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE STATING ITS INTENT TO ASSESS THE COSTS OF NUISANCE ABATEMENT AGAINST PROPERTY LOCATED AT 400 SOUTH FLOWER STREET, UNIT 77 AND ITS OWNER. WHEREAS, from approximately February I through II, 1999. the City of Orange abated a public nuisance and dangerous conditions existing at the property located at 400 South Flower Street, Unit 77; and WHEREAS, in March 1999, the City notified the property owner, Jean Fletcher, that the costs of said abatement totaled $4,018.43; and WHEREAS, said property owner has made no effort to repay said sum; and WHEREAS, a report specifying the itemized and total cost of the work done has been filed with the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 38773.5, the 1997 Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings and Orange Municipal Code Chapters 8.04 and 15.20, the costs of abatement may be assessed against the property and its owner; and WHEREAS, a hearing on the proposed assessment shall be held on March 14, 2000, at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City of Orange, 300 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange, Califomia; and WHEREAS, at said hearing the City Council shall consider only those written protests or objections filed with the City Clerk prior to the hearing. NOW, THEREFORE the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish, post and serve notice of this resolution of intention in the manner required by law.
