A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO LORI A. BENICKY OF THE ORANGE FINANCE
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HER FOR
MORE THAN TWENTY YEARS OF LOYAL AND
DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Lori A. Benicky began her service with the City in August 1980 as a
Finance Clerk III and advanced to the positions of Business Services Clerk and Financial
Analyst, and in 1985 was promoted to her current position of Finance Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, Lori worked very diligently in the areas of Utility Billing, Accounts
Payable and Business Licensing where she was highly respected by her staff, her peers and
members of other departments; and is well recognized for her knowledge, commitment to the
organization, high level of productivity, work ethic, team spirit and her ability to motivate and
inspire her staff; and
WHEREAS, Lori has received numerous accolades from various outside agencies for
her commitment to customer service and her business friendly approach; and was awarded the
National Management Association's Manager of the Year award in 1997 and has been the
Treasurer ofNMA since 1999; and
WHEREAS, Lori is a civic minded leader who has volunteered her time supporting
events such as the "Race for the Cure" and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation "Lee
National Denim Day"; and
WHEREAS, Lori has always pursued self-improvement and was selected as a
recipient of the Chapman University Scholarship in 1996 and continued her educational pursuits
and received her AA degree in June of 200 I;
and WHEREAS, Lori has announced her decision to leave City employment effective July
2,2001 to pursue her goal of operating her own bed and breakfast, "The CountryRose,"
in Hawkins,
Texas,NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council on behalf of
the citizens of Orange, expresses its sincere appreciation to Lori A. Benicky of the Orange
Finance Department for her 21 years of loyal and dedicated service and wishes Lori success,
enjoyment and good health in her retirement and her future
endeavor.ADOPTED this 26th day of June
