A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH}:
CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARlL Y CLOSING A
SECTION OF COLLINS AVENUE BETWEEN
GLASSELL STREET AND BATAVIA STREET FOR
A CONSTRUCTION PROJECT FROM 7:00 P.M. ON
FRIDAY, JANUARY 26, 2001 UNTIL 6:00 P.M. ON
SUNDAY, JANUARY 28, 2001.
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 2110l(e) authorizes cities to close portions of streets
for celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing is
necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during
the temporary closing; and
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 22507 authorizes local authorities, in their respective
jurisdiction, to temporarily restrict parking upon which preferential parking privileges are given
to residents and merchants adjacent to such parking; and
WHEREAS, Metrolink has requested a temporary street closure on a portion of Collins
Avenue to accommodate repair ofrailroad tracks, and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange does resolve as follows:
That Collins Avenue from Glassell Street to Batavia Street, be closed fi-om 7:00 P.
M.on Friday, January 26, 2001 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 28, 2001 for
the purpose of repairing the railroad tracks by
Metrolink.ADOPTED this 23cd day of January,
