RES-9575 Temporary Street Closure for Special EventRESOLUTION NO. 9575
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARILY CLOSING A
SECTION OF MARKS STREET BETWEEN
CHAPMAN AVENUE AND 500 FEET SOUTHERLY
FOR A SPECIAL EVENT.
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 21 101(e) authorizes cities to close portions of streets
for celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing is
necessary for the safety and protection of persons who aTe to use that portion of the street during
the temporary closing; and
VHEREAS, the Teamsters Credit Union has requested a temporary closure of a section
of Marks Street, and
WHEREAS, the Teamsters Credit Union has agreed to comply with the regulations
governing parties in public places that alcoholic beverages on public streets are a violation of the
law, loud or offensive music will lead to the revocation of their permits, it is the applicants'
responsibility to clean the streets after the event, and to maintain 12 feet of unobstructed access
for emergency vehicles.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange does resolve as follows:
That Marks Street between Chapman Avenue and 500 feet southerly,
he closed from 9:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Saturday - Sunday, April 6-7, 2002
ADOPTED this 26th day of March, 2002.
