A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE CHANGING CERTAIN JOB
TITLES AND RECLASSIFYING CERTAIN
CIVILIAN POSITIONS WITHIN THE ORANGE
POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, City staff has discovered nine (9) City employees within the Orange Police
Department are currently classified incorrectly; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires the current and future employees in those positions
recommended for reclassification be classified and compensated accordingly;
lOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange
authorize staff to implement the following effective retroactively to June 29, 2003:
I. Reclassify the following positions within the current FY 2003/04 budget and position
control system;

Inc1udes removal of Crime Scene Investigation Pay
2. Incorporate the attached specifications for the new classifications of Civilian Investigative
Officer, Court Liaison Officer, Police Subpoenas & Warrants Clerk, and Police Training
Coordinator and the updated Police Services Officer specification into the City's existing
e1assification plan;
3. Allow the Police Department to absorb the increased costs for salaries and benefits within
the current FY 2003/04 budget to pay for all adjustments for the current fiscal year;
4. Amend Resolution No. 9385 (City of Orange Police Association Memorandum of
Understanding) to establish "5/8" schedule pay of 5.0% for individual classified as Court
Liaison Officer; and
5. Incorporate the classifications and applicable salary ranges of Civilian Investigation
Officer, Court Liaison Officer, Police Subpoenas & Warrants Clerk, and Police Training
Coordinator as shown below.
