A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO DIANE MATTHEWS OF THE FINANCE
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HER FOR
OVER TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS OF LOYAL
AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Diane Matthews began her career with the City of Orange on August
28,1975 when she was hired as a Finance Clerk II. She has since held the positions of
Finance Clerk IIII, Accounting Machine Operator, Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
Coordinator,and finally Senior Accountant;
and WHEREAS, Diane's achievements include graduating Summa Cum Laude
from National University and receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in
October,1993 while working full-time. Diane has prepared numerous financial reports
including the Statement of Indebtedness, State Controller's Report and Annual Financial
Statements. In addition, Diane prepared the Orange Redevelopment Agency's first ever
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). With Diane's hard work and dedication to
excellent financial reporting, the Agency's first CAFR has set a high standard for all subsequent
CAFRs; and WHEREAS, Diane's contribution to the Economic Development Department
as the Redevelopment Agency Accountant will be greatly missed due to her assistance
with the Agency's budget, tracking contracts that emerged from various DDAs and OP As,
and preparing complex and comprehensive cash flow projections on a regular
basis; and WHEREAS, Diane's wealth of knowledge and information as it relates to the
City and the Redevelopment Agency will be greatly missed. Diane's ability to recall past information
at a very detailed level is admired and appreciated by all her co-workers and those who
have come to rely on her for historical facts and data relevant to
current issues; and WHEREAS, Diane will be leaving the City and moving to Virginia with
her husband to be closer to her daughter's family and to be a full-time Grandma to
her Granddaughter. Diane's departun: will also leave a large void in the Finance Department Coffee Club
where she has been a faithful contributing member in goodstanding
for many years.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Orange congratulates and expresses appreciation to Diane Matthews for her
outstanding, loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange and wishes her success, enjoyment and
good health
