A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO ROBERT D. KNAAK OF THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR
MORE THAN THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OF
LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE WHEREAS, Robert Knaak was born in the City of Orange and has been a lifelongresident, currently residing in an impeccably restored home in the Old Towne District;
and WHEREAS, Bob began his career with the City of Orange on June 2, 1969 as
an Engineering Aide. He was promoted to Draftsman Engineer I on October I, 1971, andtoDraftsmanEngineerIIonNovember12, 1972;
and WHEREAS, on January 22, 1973 Bob entered the engineering ranks as a Junior
Civil Engineer. He was promoted to Assistant Engineer on July 1, 1979, to Plarl Check Engineer
on July 6, 1985, to Associate Civil Engineer on July 21, 1987, to Assessment District Engineer
on April 1 , 1989 and finally promoted to his current position of Development Services Supervisor
in 1998;
and WHEREAS, Bob was named Employee of the Month in October 1986, and
has continued to provide outstanding performance in his job;
and WHEREAS, Bob has always given first priority to the quality of life and safety of
the citizens of the City of Orange in the performance of his duties. The many letters of thanks
and commendation sent by citizens, businesses and developers best exemplify the quality
of assistance that Bob has provided;
and WHEREAS, with Bob's decision to retire, every day will become a "Knaak" day
and will allow him to begin a new phase of leisure and activity. It is anticipated that Bob
will occasionally be seen driving his restored 1911 Marmon through the streets of Old
Towne.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City ofOrange,on behalf of the employees and citizens of the City of Orange, hereby expresses to Robert
D.Knaak sincere appreciation for over 35 years of loyal and dedicated service and wishes Bob
and his wife RaNel, a happy and fulfilling
retirement.ADOPTED this 27th day of July,
