A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARIL Y CLOSING
SECTIONS OF PUBLIC STREETS FOR APPROVED
SPECIAL EVENTS.
VHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 2ll0l(e) authorizes cities to close portions of streets
for celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing is
necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during
the temporary closing; and
VHEREAS, the Orange Chamber of Commerce, the International Street Fair
Commit1cee, the Rotary Club of Orange Sunrise, the Onmge County Mustang Club, Motorsport
Industri~:s, Chapman University and St. John's Luthenm Church have requested a temporary
street closing to accommodate several special events in the streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange
as follows:
AUTO SHOW - ROTARY CLUB OF ORANGE SUNRISE Section !:
That
Chapman Avenue be closed from Lemon Street easterly to Grand Street; and Glassell
Street from Almond Avenue northerly to Maple Avenue on Sunday- Aprill8, 2004,from
8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Section
II:That
before said closure shall occur; the Rotary Club of Orange Sunrise shall provide all signing,
barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City, including the
Poliee and Public Works Departments.Section
III:The
Rotary Club of Orange Sunrise shall notify area residents and businesses of the event and
temporary street closure in accordance with the Police Department's directions.CAR
SHOW - MOTORSPORT INDUSTRIES. INC.Section !:That
Collins
Avenue be closed from Main Street to Batavia Street on Sunday-April 25,
2004, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.1
Section H:
That before said closure shall occur; Motorsport Industries shall provide all signing,
barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City, including the
Police and Public Works Departments.
Section HI:
The Motorsport Industries shall notify area residents and businesses of the event and

University Avenue be closed from Glassell Street to its easterly terminus on Saturday
and Sunday -May 22 & 23, 2004 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.Section

before said closure shall occur; Chapman University shall provide all signing,barricad,

Street from Almond Avenue northerly to Maple Avenue from 9:00 p.m. Thursday -August 28,
2003, through 8:00 a.m. Monday- Sept€::mber 1,2003.Section II:
That before
said closure shall occur; the International Street Fair Committee shall provide all signing,
barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City,including the
Police and Public Works Departments.Section III:
The International
Street Fair Committee shall notify area residents and businesses of the event and
