A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO BILL WAGNER OF THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR
MORE THAN THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OF
LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Bill Wagner began his career with the City of Orange in October
of 1971 working for the Water Department as a Maintenance Man I and was promoted to
an Equipment Operator I in May 1974 and Equipment Operator II in October 1976;
and WHEREAS, Bill was promoted to a Water Quality Inspector I in February 1980
and in September 1985 was promoted to Public Works Inspector II;
and WHEREAS, Bill was promoted to Senior Construction Inspector in May 2005;
and WHEREAS, Bill has always demonstrated uncanny resourcefulness and
patient professionalism in dealing with the many unique challenges placed before him in the course
of his work. He has consistently shown a firm and unrelenting dedication to duty, working
over and during numerous nights and weekends as the job demanded. Bill continues to maintain
the highest standards for the City, all the time striving for the maximum efficiency and return for
the City, without loosing site ofthe public he serves;
and WHEREAS, Bill has proven himself as being extremely adept and talented
in solving distinctive and challenging field problems. He demonstrates a complete and
single-minded resolve to see assignments and problems through to a successful conclusion.
His ingenuity and resourcefulness in rendering positive and workable solutions to difficult
problems,along with the high standards he has set for himself, has resulted in an ingrained trust and
high expectation for his ability to deal with the tough
issues.WHEREAS, Bill is to be complemented for his foresight and VISIOn
when contributing to helping build a water system that is dependable and cost efficient for the
citizens of
Orange.WHEREAS, Bill has proven himself a tactful and adept customer
service representative for the City of Orange, whether it involved dealing with contractors or
developers or dealing with specific homeowner problems. He has always gone out of his way to do his
best to help diagnose and treat homeowner water tribulations to help bring about a
successful conclusion. He remains a wealth of information involving the design, construction and
operation of the water system, always helping where he can to improve the overall condition of the
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council, on behalf of the
employees and citizens of the City of Orange, hereby expresses to Bill Wagner appreciation for
over 35 years of loyal and dedicated service and wish Bill and his wife, Patti, a happy and
fulfilling retirement.
