A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO DISPATCHER DEBRA L. CROASDAILE OF
THE ORANGE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR HER
MORE THAN TWENTY-SIX YEARS OF
LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY
OF
ORANGE.WHEREAS Debra Croasdaile was influenced to enter a career in law
enforcement by her elder brother, Roland, a deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs
Department.Debra first considered becoming a police officer, but instead entered the field of
law enforcement as a civilian, where she has enjoyed a distinguished career in the
following areas;
and WHEREAS on July 20,1981 Debra became a member of Orange Police
Department as a records clerk;
and WHEREAS, on April 10, 1983, Debra found her niche III Communications,
by becoming a dispatcher;
and WHEREAS, on March 6, 1994, Debra was promoted to Dispatch Shift
Supervisor;and also in 1994, Debra was the second civilian chosen to serve as a member of the
Crisis Negotiations Team, a rare honor reserved for only those most skilled at dealing with
critical,high-stress
situations; and WHEREAS, Debra's devoted service to the Orange Police Department
and the citizens of Orange has included specialized training in the following: 9-1-
1 call taker, radio dispatcher, Communications Supervisor, and Training Officer. As a
radio dispatcher and call taker, Debra has been highly regarded by other dispatchers,
field personnel and supervisors for her calm demeanor and conscientious dissemination
of crucial information; and WHEREAS everyone who knows Debra is aware of her love
of dogs, family, church,and all things Disney - not necessarily in that order; upon retirement,
January 20, 2007,Debra will be deeply missed by her OPD family, but her influence and
legacy will remain with us for
years to come.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City
Council, hereby expresses sincere appreciation and congratulations to Dispatcher Debra L. Croasdaile for
her more than twenty-six years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange, and
best wishes for a long,
