A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE ASSIGNING THE BLOCK WAY
TO A NEW STREET AND RENAMING THE DUAL-
NAMED STREET METROPOLITAN DRIVE/THE
BLOCK DRIVE TO METROPOLITAN DRIVE.
WHEREAS, Section 12.40.050 of the Orange Municipal Code states that the City
Council shall have full control over naming streets within the City of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has established written policies and procedures
whereby street names are created and changed; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said policies and procedures, City staff considered a request
by the owners of The Block at Orange Shopping Center to assign at new street name and to
rename an existing street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the request and finds that
it should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby concurs in
the above findings; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council approves the follows:
1) The Block Way is assigned to a new city street, and
2) The dual-named street Metropolitan Drive/The Block Drive IS renamed
to Metropolitan
Drive,as shown on Exhibit A to this Resolution,
and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Director is hereby directed
to implement this
approval.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to cause this Resolution to be recorded in the Office of the Orange County
Recorder.ADOPTED this 26th day of August,
