A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO ARTHUR LOBATO OF THE COMMUNITY
SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR MORE THAN 28
YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF ORANGE.
WHEREAS, Arthur Lobato became a full-time Maintenance Worker I for the City
of Orange on October 26, 1981;
and WHEREAS, on May 11, 1986, Art was promoted to a Maintenance Worker II in
the Community Services Department and promoted to Maintenance Leadworker on February
2,1987;
and WHEREAS, during his career, Art experienced the opening of Belmont Park,
Fred Barrera Park, Grijalva Park at Santiago Creek, McPherson Athletic Facility, Pitcher
Park,Serrano Park and Santiago Hills Park and helped maintain these parks for the enjoyment
of the community;
and WHEREAS, Art has always strived to make our City park system beautiful
in appearance and healthy environment for all community members, and ensured safety first
for all of our parks;
and WHEREAS, Art has been described by his supervisors as very hard-
working and conscientious, a good team player and can be counted on for his willingness to
cooperate and assist
others; and WHEREAS, Art has been the Leadworker of many City of Orange
co-workers that have described him as a good leader, always willing to lend a hand and teach a
new skill, and patient
and cooperative; and WHEREAS, all City employees wish Art a long and happy retirement,
success in his quest to learn more about and be an advocate for children afflicted with
autism, and continue to be active in the lives of his wife Cruz and their children Sergio
and Emilio; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the
City of Orange commends and congratulates Arthur Lobato for his exceptional service
as Field Maintenance Leadworker in the Community Services Department and express to him the
gratitude of the citizens of Orange and the City Council for his dedicated service to our City for
the
