I know the f ounde rs of the school pe rsonal l y. The y are e thi cal and de di cate d to a top notch Cl assi cal
e ducati on f or those f ami l i e s that w ant that approach. The y wi sh to be a good ne i ghbor. The y have done
e ve rythi ng re que ste d by staf f i n a v e ry short amount of ti me , and have spe nt a l arge amount of mone y
i mprovi ng the Si te as a si gn of good f ai th be fore any approval .
The faci l i ty i s an e x i sti ng school si te . The pri mary di f f e re nce be tw e e n the use f or the OCCA and the pri or
school i s that the pri or school w as hi gh school . Thi s wi l l be e l e me ntary school . The i ncre ase of 60 stude nts
w i l l not i ncre ase the numbe r of car tri ps or parki ng i mpact i n the ne i ghborhood. N one of the stude nts are
dri vi ng or parki ng. The re are not the mul ti pl e af te r school and e x tracurri cul ar acti vi ti e s l ate i nto the e ve ni ng
w i th an e l e me ntary school that the re are w i th a hi gh school . A nd many of the stude nts are i n f ami l y uni ts,
be i ng droppe d of f and pi cke d up at the same ti me i n the same car by a pare nt. The re si mpl y w i l l not be any
adve rse i mpact on the ne i ghborhood.
I advocate d f or thi s Charte r School at the OUSD publ i c he ari ng and was pl e ase d i t w as grante d a Charte r. I
have be e n a v ol unte e r advocate for i t i n the communi ty and w i th ci ty staf f to f i nd a si te that w oul d w ork.
