A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO JULIE SCHNEIDER AND COMMENDING HER
FOR THIRTY-SIX YEARS OF LOYAL
AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Julie Schneider started working in the City of Orange in July of 1974
as a part-time Finance Clerk. Over the years, she worked part-
time, full-time, contract employee, regular part-time and regular full-time, such that no
one really kriows for sure how many years she has
actually worked for the City; and WHEREAS, Julie has
always been ahard-working, conscientious individual, whr.,quickly established the confidence and trust of
her co-workers and superiors. She has been able to master our complex payroll system
and has
appropriately earned the title of "Payroll Diva"; and WHEREAS, Some of Julie's
many qualities are her calm demeanor and her willingness to help employees with a
variety of payroll questions. She
explains things with professionalism, courtesy and patience; and WHEREAS, the Finance Department
will now be able to surplus the extra refrigerator in the break room, which
contained Julie's supply of Diet Cokes; and WHEREAS, Julie and her husband Vic
raised their family, a son Stephen and a daughter Traci. The Schneider family
increased in number recently when Traci and husband Matt became proud parents of a son
Brayden. Julie has been known to schedule vacations and sick days around payroll week-it is
even rumored that the birth
of her grandchild was scheduled on an off-payroll week!WHEREAS, Julie has shown a
genuine commitment to the job and City to get the payroll out on time. Not only has she worked
long, late hours, but has even come
in over the holidays to get the payroll out; and WHEREAS, Julie
has announced her retirement effective June 5, 2010, and will especially enjoy her newest responsibility
of taking
care of her grandson, a task she happily accepts; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Orange,expresses sincere appreciation
and congratulations to Julie Schneider for her 36 years of loyal service, and wishes her a
long and happy retirement. Although she may be taking on new responsibilities,
ADOPTED, this 11'h day of May, 2010.
