A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO ANITA HOLLAND OF THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT FOR TWENTY -
TWO YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Anita Holland began her career with the City of Orange on September
5, 1989, as an Administrative Clerk I. In 1990, she was promoted to a Public Services Clerk.
By 1998, Anita was reclassified as a Permit Technician, and reclassified again in 2009 as a
Senior Permit Technician; and
WHEREAS, throughout her career in Orange, Anita has handled a fair share of the
more difficult and complex projects for the Building Division. She has significantly
contributed to issuing multifaceted permits for development projects such as Del Rio,
Harmony Creek and Creekview Senior Apartments, Chapman Leatherby Library, Chapman
Residence Hall, Chapman Law School, Main Street Medical, Walgreen's, Best Buy, and
Trader Joe's, just to mention a few; and
WHEREAS, Anita, along with her long time co- worker Pam Propst, has been the
driving force at the front counter for many years. You knew you were in good hands when
you heard Anita calling your name from the Building sign -in sheet; and
WHEREAS, Anita has been an incredible asset to the City of Orange. She grew up
in Orange and knew many of the local customers. Her knowledge, resourcefulness, and
organizational skills have been exemplary. Even during periods of increased permit activity,
she was instrumental in completing a high volume of work in an efficient, timely manner.
She has made an enormous contribution to the success of the front counter; and
WHEREAS, Anita will be missed in the Community Development Department. She
worked well not only with City staff, but the public too. Her friendly, knowledgeable
demeanor was always a welcomed asset at the counter. She was always willing to learn new
tasks such as the CRW permitting software implemented in 1997, along with the recently
upgraded "dot.net" version in late 2010, and learning how to perform simple plan checks at
the counter; and
WHEREAS, upon her retirement, Anita and her husband Bob, will be able to
continue their love of traveling to Hawaii, Laughlin, and Carlsbad. She will also be able to
spend more time reading and relaxing; and
WHEREAS, her knowledgeable, friendly personality will sincerely be missed. She
has made numerous friends and earned the respect of residents, contractors, architects,
business owners, and all others doing business in Orange.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Orange that Anita Holland be congratulated for her more than 22 years of loyal and dedicated
service to the City of Orange.
