A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO ROSALIE BROOKS OF THE FINANCE
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HER FOR
ALMOST TWENTY -NINE YEARS OF DEDICATED
SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Rosalie began her career with the City on November 19, 1984, as a
Finance Clerk in Cashiering, was quickly promoted to Senior Finance Clerk, and then
successfully became Head Cashier. Rosalie moved to Accounts Payable in 1989 for a few
months before finally entering the exciting world of General Revenue, spending the majority
of her time in Business Licensing; and
WHEREAS, Rosalie has been an outstanding ambassador to the business community
on behalf of the City of Orange. Rosalie's extensive knowledge of the Business License
ordinance is unparalleled; and
WHEREAS, Rosalie leads the way in setting an outstanding example of professional
and courteous Customer Service, earning hundreds of compliment cards from appreciative
customers, many of whom ask specifically for her and who will be sorely disappointed to no
longer see her smiling face; and
WHEREAS, Rosalie is known to herald the end of the work day with her famous cry
of "buck -eet, buck -eet, buck -eet" as she prepares the bucket of financial folders to be locked
up for the night; and
WHEREAS, once retired, Rosalie will be able to indulge even more frequently in her
favorite pastime of shopping at Macy's; and
WHEREAS, Rosalie has been recognized by every feline in a 10 mile radius of her
home as their go -to Cat Lady when in need of food, shelter, love, or just a scratch behind the
ears; and
WHEREAS, Rosalie is highly appreciated for her cheerful demeanor, her positive
attitude and her willingness to help others wherever and whenever needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Teresa E. Smith, Mayor of the City of Orange, on behalf of
the entire City Council, commend Rosalie Brooks for her almost twenty -nine years of
outstanding, dedicated and loyal service to the City of Orange, and wish her Godspeed.
Rosalie will be greatly missed but never forgotten by her City of Orange family.
