A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO SUE CAMPBELL AND COMMENDING HER
FOR TWENTY -THREE YEARS OF LOYAL AND
DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Sue Campbell began working for the City of Orange in April of 1991,
in the position of Purchasing Clerk. In her 23 year career with the City, she has been
promoted from Purchasing Clerk, to Buyer, to her present position as Senior Buyer.
WHEREAS, When Sue started with the City, Purchasing was a division of the
General Services Department, located at the Corp Yard. Over the years, Purchasing became
a division of the Finance Department and then was moved to the Orange Civic Center.
WHEREAS, Sue has always been a hard - working and conscientious individual. Her
many qualities include her willingness to help co- workers, superiors, and vendors with a
variety of purchasing questions and procedures. In 2009, Sue was called on to help with the
implementation of the Eden Financial Software, which the City now uses. She maintains the
vendor master file of 13,000 plus vendors.
WHEREAS, Sue is a member of the California Association of Public Procurement
Officials (CAPPO) and at one time was the Orange County Satellite Chairman. She is a
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.).
WHEREAS, One of Sue's hobbies is bowling. Although she once bowled a 299
game she still strives for that elusive perfect 300 game.
WHEREAS, Sue has announced her retirement effective November 4, 2014. Sue
and her husband, John, who has been retired for a few years, are looking forward to traveling,
bowling and just taking it easy. Sue has already agreed to work part-time running a broccoli
farm. She will be missed by the entire Finance Department, at the potlucks and birthday
celebrations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Orange,
expresses sincere appreciation and congratulations to Sue Campbell for her 23 years of loyal
and dedicated service, and wishes her a long and happy retirement.
