RES-10831 Loyal Service Appreciation For Oanh RichardsRESOLUTION NO. 10831 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO OANH RICHARDS OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HER FOR MORE THAN SIXTEEN YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE. WHEREAS, Ms. Oanh Richards began her career with the City of Orange Community Development Department on November 16, 1998 working as a Code Enforcement Officer in the Code Enforcement Division for 6 years, and WHEREAS, Oanh became a Combination Building Inspector in 2004, and was put to the test on her first day by being asked to climb a two story ladder for a roof inspection. Since then she has fearlessly climbed numerous ladders, and WHERAS, Over the past six years, Oanh has been responsible for inspecting large commercial projects such as a number of stores and restaurants at The Outlets at Orange including Sports Authority, Nordstrom, B.J.'s, and Saddle Ranch restaurants. Oanh has also been involved with other projects such as the Tilted Kilt, CalOptima, CashCall, Choc, St. Joseph Hospital, and currently the Amli housing project, and WHEREAS, Oanh has worked in local government for more than 29 years, including thirteen years with the City of Garden Grove, and 16 years for the City of Orange, and WHEREAS, Oanh is often called a "Superstar" on the team. She maintains an excellent rapport with the public she serves and is a real asset to the City of Orange. Some of the words to describe Oanh are dependable, efficient, professional, knowledgeable, and a team player, and WHEREAS, Oanh will enjoy her retirement spending time with her grandchildren, playing tennis, biking, gardening, swimming, traveling and playing bingo, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council, of the City of Orange, expresses genuine appreciation and gratitude to Oanh Richards for over 16 years of loyal and dedicated service, and sincerely wishes Oanh and her husband Gary a happy and fulfilling retirement.
