FOR OVER FORTY YEARS OF LOYAL AND
DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE.
WHEREAS, as a product of Sycamore Elementary School, Portola Middle School,

one of the original Park Guards at the Parks Department; and
WHEREAS, in 1981, he saw the light and migrated from Parks to the Public Works
Department to work as a Maintenance Worker I on the Concrete Crew; and

promoted once again to the position of Sweeper Operator. In this capacity he would go on to
for several years and gain the respect of his crew as an exceptional leader; and
WHEREAS, in 1999, Victor would park his street sweeper and promote to the position
of Leadworker at the Corporation Yard; and
WHEREAS, over the next few years, Victor would be promoted to the position of
Field Maintenance Supervisor and in 2009 Victor responded to the call and was promoted to
his current position of Public Works Maintenance and Operations Manager; and
WHEREAS, Victor has always been an extremely dedicated City employee and
servant leader. He is the embodiment of the City's values of teamwork, integrity, and
excellence and the Public Works Department's values of integrity, teamwork, innovation and

be found enjoying time with his wife of 32 years, Linda, his children Selena, Naomi, and
Victor, Jr. and his grandchildren Andrew, Jordan, and Olivia; and
WHEREAS, Victor loves to travel and if we need to reach him it will be a long distance
call as he will more than likely be traveling with his wife Linda and chatting it up with his
fellow vacationers in the pool at some far distant place; and
WHEREAS, Victor will always be known as a great leader and exceptional manager
who possessed the unique ability to care, manage effectively, and retain the devotion, loyalty,
and friendship within the Public Works Department and throughout all City Departments; and
WHEREAS, over the last two generations, Victor has a history with the City that is so
vast and contributions that are so majestic that there is insufficient room on this resolution to
capture and proclaim his great legacy of service.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Teresa "Tita" Smith, Mayor of the City of Orange, on behalf
of the entire Orange City Council, hereby extend sincere gratitude to Victor Uribe for over
40 years of service and best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement.
