1. SUBJECT
Purchase of two Ambulance /Rescue Units Orange Fire Department.
2. SUMMARY
Purchase of two ambulances for the Orange Fire Department from Braun Industries, located in
Van Wert, Ohio, through a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement (CPA).
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. Authorize the purchase of two class -one ambulances from Braun Industries, located in Van
Wert, Ohio in the amount of $ 285,756.12 each, for a total expenditure of $571,512.24.
2. Authorize the City Manager to surplus the vehicles scheduled to be replaced.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available for these vehicles in the following account:
720.5023.55212.00000 Motor Vehicle Replacements

7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
As part of the Fiscal Year 2015 -16 (FYI 6) budget preparation it was determined that the purchase
of two ambulances was needed (vehicles 1551 and 1552). As a result, these vehicles were placed
on the approved vehicle replacement list in FY 16 as indicated below:
• FY 15/16: Two ambulances for Orange Fire Department replacing two 2009 Horton
Ambulances, originally purchased in 2009.
In conjunction with the Finance Department, the purchase of two Braun Industries Ambulances
for the Orange Fire Department is proposed using a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with
HGACBuy, Contract No. AM10 -14, through Braun Industries in Van Wert, Ohio.
Section 3.08.290 of the Orange Municipal Code states any agreement involving the acquisition of
materials, supplies, or equipment may be entered into with another government entity through
cooperative purchasing provisions.
Braun Industries will deliver the two 2016 F -550 Chief XL Ambulances through the HGAC -Buy
CPA for $ 571,512.24, which includes tax and freight.
