The following claim(s) have been received and investigated by the City Attorney's Office
and/or the Risk Manager. After a thorough investigation with the involved departments, it is the
recommendation of the City Attorney's Office that the claim(s) be denied:
(1) Deny the following Application to Present a Late Claim:
a. Carl's Jr. Restaurants, LLC
(2) Deny the following Claim for damages:
a. Steven Shores
b. Jorge Nolasco
C. Jason Gardner
d. Edgar E. Martinez
3. RECOMMENDATION
Deny claim(s) and refer to City Attorney and Claims Adjuster.

7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
1. Application to Present a Late Claim:
a. Application to present a late claim from Carl's Jr. Restaurants, LLC alleging equitable
indemnity, contribution and declaratory relief resulting from a personal injury claim
that occurred on a City of Orange sidewalk.
2. Claims for Damage:
a. Claim for damages from Steven Shores alleging damage to his vehicle when he turned
into a driveway.
b. Amended claim for damages from Jorge Nolasco alleging personal injury from an
incident involving the Orange Police Department.
c. Claim for damages from Jason Gardner alleging misconduct resulting from
encounters involving the Orange Police Department.
d. Amended Claim for damages from Edgar E. Martinez alleging personal injury from
an incident involving the Orange Police Department.
