As a result of this action the City was left with eight surplus street sweepers. After completing a thorough inspection it was determined that two of the street sweeping units were in satisfactory operational condition and met current AQMD requirements. The remaining six sweepers are over 15 years old and require extensive repairs to be maintained in a functional state and it is recommended that they be sent to auction. Because they are non - compliant with the Southern California AQMD they will be auctioned off by a Purchasing Department approved out -of -state equipment broker. All funds received will be allocated to the vehicle replacement fund. Initial discussions with the broker place the estimated value of the surplus units at $3,500 each. 8.
